TAIL PROPULSION ....................The TREKETREK PROJECT.
My contact with Tail-propulsion started in December 1966 and I was experimenting with Tail-propulsion for 5 years. The first experiment was to convert a small propeller driven boat with a small rubber tail. With the tail centralized the boat was going in circle. To make the boat going in a straight line, the tail had to be mounted off center. ( Why )

The second modification was made with 2 vertical tails and was
giving an excellent result .

The third modification to the boat was made with 1 horizontal tail mounted

Tail Movements.

The assymetric movement with this kind of transmition caused the tail to move faster one way then the other. That litle differance was sufficient to make the boat go in circle
The result from my tests, demonstrated how important it is to move the tail in the right way. Many machinery was made in my workshop to obtain the best efficiency. Three different type of oscillation is shown with their results. The flywheel with connecting rod is best for horizontal and double vertical fin drive. The symmetric Scotch-yoke drive is the drive for vertical drive but is not the most efficient drive. The Heart shape cam gives the most efficient drive.

Wave making.

With waves .......................................... Without waves
The wave system around the immerged portion of a moving hull is developed at the expense of energy which would otherwise produce motion.
The Tail propulsion on the Model Boat was moving without making waves, when the oscillating frequency was in harmony with the wave frequency.
