Build your own WING-DRIVE and have fun with an easy way of happy sailing.

WING-DRIVE Freestanding.

WING-DRIVE II Supported.

Who invented the Wing-Drive?
The WING-DRIVE with the WEDGE TAIL is invented by Kjell Dahlberg.

Is the Wing-Drive a Wing sail?
No. but both are using the wind force to produce thrust.

Is Wing-Drive better than Sails?
The Wing-Drive makes sailing easy and safe.

Why two wings?
The height of the rig is reduced to avoid the capsizing risk maintaining the wing area.

Why a 360 degree free swinging rig with a minimum friction?
Mounted on ball bearing permits the Wing-Drive to follow the wind shifts as a wind vane with minimum resistance to the wind.

Why a wedge tail and not a foil tail?
The wedge tail has been proved to control the wings more accurate.

Can the Wing-Drive bee operated with sheets as on other wing sails?
No sheets or winches are needed. The wedge tail is the controller of the apparent wind angle.

Do I need to be a skilled sailor to operate the Wing-Drive?
No, No physical effort has to be applied to control the wings.
With the single control lever is as simple as to play with a joystick.

Can I leave the Wing-Drive mounted in bad weather?
Yes. Setting the wedge tail to the zero thrust position, the Wing-Drive actuate as a wind vane.

How does the Wing-Drive works?
The Wing-Drive works in the same way as the wings on an aeroplane, when make the “Take-off” but in horizontal way.

The Wing-Drive makes sailing easy and safe.
